MC Galaxy Drops ‘Hello’ Visuals

mc galaxyThe ‘Sekem’ singer, MC Galaxy, has dropped the visuals for his song, ‘Hello’.

The traditional blockbuster love story video, featured top celebrities including Nollywood veteran actor, Chinwetalu Agu, Iyanya, DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Humility and Ms Bodega.

‘Hello’ video was directed by Mazi Cijizzle Cijay and produced by Wole Ogundare.

gl11Nigerian celebrities, including super star 2Face and his wife, Annie, Sasha P, Sound Sultan and several others, partied hard with Chris Brown’s DJ, Babey Drew at the second Green Light Party, in Lagos.

Other celebrities spotted at the event were DJ Xclusive, DJ Spinall, DJ Humility, Kaylah, Wale Ojo, DJ Caise, Kelvin Orifa, Kessiana Edewor, Shade Ladipo and others.

The Green Light party kicked off early October with Akon’s DJ, Benny D and will be wrapped up in a few weeks’ time with another international superstar DJ.

Davido, Mafikizolo, Ice Prince, Others To Headline MAMA Club Tour

DavidoNigerian music stars as well as other African acts, will headline this year’s Road To MAMA club tour, a build up to the MAMA (MTV Africa Music Awards) organised by music channel, MTV Base.

The pan-African club tour arrives in Lagos on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Marquee, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

MAMA nominees, Davido, Ice Prince, KCee, Burna Boy and Chidinma will be thrilling party lovers at the Lagos edition of the Road To MAMAs alongside superstar DJs like DJ Caise, DJ Obi, DJ Humility and DJ Spinall.

MTV Base has also revealed that South African Afro Pop group, Mafikizolo will storm Lagos, Nigeria for the R2M concert which features contemporary artists and music, making waves across the continent, criss-crossing the continent in the build up to the MAMA awards.

The upcoming MTV Africa Music Awards, which are taking place in South Africa for the first time at the ICC, Durban on 7 June 2014.  Nominees will compete in 18 different categories including Best Male, Best Female, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Video.

Tied for first place in the nominations for the 2014 MAMA are Davido and South African artists Mafikizolo and Uhuru, who each scored 4 nominations while going directly head-to-head for Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration.

Following closely behind with 3 nominations each are P Square (Best Group, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year), South Africa’s Mi Casa (Best Group, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year), and Angolan artist Yuri Da Cunha (Song of the Year, Best Lusophone and Best Collaboration).

 

Cobham’s mother wins Supermom celebrity show

After thirteen weeks of voting, Gladys Asuquo, mother of the award winning singer,song writer, and producer, Cobhams Asuquo, has won Supermom celebrity edition.

The former clerical officer in the Nigerian Army clinched the winning prize of N2m after earning the highest votes by fans and followers of the ten finalists.

According to the executive producer of the show, Sola Fajobi, she is expected to donate her cash prize to a charity of her choice and would be treated to an all-expense paid trip to Dubai.

Fuji music star, Abass Akande Obesere’s mother, Taibat Omobonike, emerged first runner up while Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment rapper, Skales’ mother, was second runner up. They both get N1m and N500, 000 cash respectively which would also be donated to a charity of choice and an all-expense paid trip to Dubai.

Other runners up are Julius Agwu and Tony Tetuila’s mothers.

Speaking on how Mrs. Asuquo’s story was adjudged the best of the ten, Fajobi said, “our viewer’s were moved to tears by the story of how Cobhams turned his disability to a success story. On how she managed to raise him, despite the inherent challenges.”

Mrs Asuquo said, “It wasn’t easy watching Cobhams do chores around the house and run errands like my other children but I resolved to make him as independent and capable of achieving anything he sets his mind to do. I showed him where his box of clothes was and would ask him to go get his clothes after bathing him.”

She also added that as he grew up, his love for music started coming to the fore as he would beat on anything he could lay his hands on, so I encouraged him by buying him musical toys.

Since the show began airing on May 26, the story of 20 Nigerian celebrities, as told by their mothers was the central focus. The participating celebrities include Cobhams, Skales, Obesere, Foluke Daramola, Flavour Nabania, Mr. Olu of the Yahooze fame, Ice K, one half of the enduring duo, Artquake, Kennis Music act, Jaywon, Tony Tetuila and female drummer, Ara.
Others were On-Air-personality, Yaw; actors: Femi Adebayo, Binta Ayo Mogaji, and Kunle Afolayan; comedians: Seyi Law and Julius Agwu; Kenny Saint Best, DJ Humility and Chico Ejiro.
