Aminu Nets 15 Points, Nine Rebounds In Blazers Win

National Basketball Association (NBA), D’Tigers forward, Al-Farouq Aminu, has scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Denver Nuggets 122-113.

The 26-year-old Nigerian shot four of seven from the field and made six of his nine free throw attempts in 28 minutes of play, as Portland took a 1-game lead for 8th seed in the Western Conference.

Portland also got 32 points and 16 rebounds from former Nuggets center, Jusuf Nurkic, while C. J. McCollum added 39 points.

The Blazers would face the Houston Rockets on Thursday night.

Aminu Nets Eight Points In Blazers Win

The 26-year-old old Nigerian, shot four of five from the field to go along with six rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes of play.

Portland is currently 9th in the Western Conference and also got 32 points from shooting guard, C. J. McCollum.

They would visit the Los Angeles Lakers in their next game come Sunday.

NBA: Aminu Misses 5th Straight Game

AminuD’Tigers forward, Al-farouq Aminu, has missed his 5th straight game in the National Basketball Association (NBA), following a calf injury.

The 26-year-old Nigerian, strained his calf on Tuesday in a non-contact injury against the Phoenix Suns, and did not suit up for Saturday’s defeat against the New Orleans pelicans.

Without the player in the starting line-up, Portland has struggled in both offensive and defensive efficiency categories and the team is likely to remain without him for at least the next two weeks.

AminuAminu is the Blazers’ most versatile defender, averaging 6.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 26.1 minutes in eight games this season.

He is equally one of their best rebounders and the team does not have many options to replace what he offers.

Noah Vonleh has, however, started in Aminu’s place, against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, but Stotts said his starting lineup will likely remain fluid until Aminu returns.
