Beyoncé To Receive Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award

MTV Base announced on Thursday, August 7,  that global international sensation, Beyoncé, would receive the legendary Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyoncé, who leads the pack this year with eight VMA nominations, will be presented with the highly coveted Video Vanguard Award, joining a prestigious list of past recipients including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and JustinTimberlake.

Mrs Carter’s triumphant return to the MTV VMA stage marks her fourth time performing on the loudest, most influential annual live celebration of music in the world.

The event, which will take place in Inglewood, California, on Sunday August 24, would also have previously announced 2014 “MTV Video Music Award” performers like Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5.

Additional performers and presenters would be announced on a later date.

Another Woman Sues Beyoncé’s Dad Over Child Support

Beyonce-Tina-Matthew-Knowles-BN-Music-July-2014-BellaNaija.com_-600x453Another woman claiming that Beyoncé‘s dad, Matthew Knowles, is the father of her child has filed legal documents in Texas requesting for child support.

TaQoya Branscomb, the said woman, claims she was pregnant with Matthew’s child in 2010, the same year Tina Knowles filed for divorce from Matthew.

TaQoya who was formerly a lingerie model but is now a real estate agent, claims their relationship triggered Tina’s decision to call it quits.

According to reports, the woman gave birth to the 4 year-old child in Harris County, Texas. She is demanding he takes DNA test and asking for child support plus money for her attorney’s fees.

In 2010, Queen Bey’s father had a similar issue with  Alexandra Wright, who was pregnant with his son. His $12,000 child support fine was reduced to $2, 485 per month when Beyonce fired him as her manager.

Beyonce, Jay Z Release Star Studded Movie Trailer To Promote Music Tour

Jay-Z-and-BeyonceSuperstars, BeyonceBeyoc and Jay Z have released a movie trailer to promote their forthcoming tour, On The Run.

The big budget 3.45minute long film,  titled ‘Run’ with a release date of ‘coming never’ stars Jay Z, Beyonce and Hollywood big names including Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones, and Kidada Jones.

The tour which kicks off on June 25th in Miami will end on August 6 in San Francisco. The tour will so go to Toronto and Winnipeg in Canada.
