The Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan on Monday recommended that subsequent National Sports Festival should be held in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Uduaghan said this move will help to strengthen the sport facilities in National Stadium, Abuja.

“What I think we should do now is that the Federal government should host the National Sport Festival at Abuja,” he said.

The governor said if the Federal Government starts hosting the National Sport Festival, it will accomplish many things.

“First the facilities at Abuja right now they are decaying because they are not being used. I believe that if we use those facilities to host the National Sports Festival once every two years, the Federal Government will be forced to put those facilities in place.

“Two, it will also give a national feeling to everybody. Host National Sport Festival in Abuja, so every two years people are looking up to go to Abuja for the National Sport Festival,” Mr Uduaghan said.
