The wife ‎of the Osun State Governor, Sherifat Aregbesola, has appealed to the state medical doctors and the government to reach an agreement and call off the over two-months strike in the interest of the public.

She made the appeal shortly after visiting the baby of the year at ‎the state Hospital, Asubiaro, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The first lady urged the doctors who had been on strike for over two months to dialogue with the state government and reach a truce on their demands, as the masses were the worst hit ‎by the strike.

Mrs Aregbesola, who presented gifts to baby Tijani,‎ also called on mothers to take the education of their children as a very important thing, stressing that children are the future of the nation and that they must be nurtured in the right direction.

The first lady also visited the Osun State Correctional and Orphanage Centre where she also presented gifts and food items to the centre.

The “Baby of the Year” was delivered into the family of Mr Nurudeen and Mrs Rofiat Tijani.

The baby, weighing 3.5kg was delivered at exactly 3.37am, making her the first baby to be delivered for the year 2016 in the state.
