The Christian Association of Nigeria, Kano State branch, has expressed worry over the silence of the authorities on the killing of about 13 people at Sheka area in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, by unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists.

While addressing journalists in Kano on Tuesday, the Chairman of CAN Kano state branch, Bishop Ransom Bello said the victims, all men, were shot dead in one compound on Saturday.
He said it was gathered from the only survivor in the attack that the gunmen stormed the compound inhabited by factory workers in two taxi cabs and separated the men from the women and children and opened fire on the men, killing the 13 of them on the spot.
Reports say on that fateful day at about 7pm, while some Muslim faithful were conducting their prayer close to the affected compound, the attackers came and demanded to know why the residents were not part of the 7pm Muslim prayer.
After responding by telling the visitors that they were not Muslims and so could not be part of the gathering, the men were then shot dead by the suspected terrorists on the spot after ordering the women and children into their homes.
When contacted for the police reaction on the matter, the state Police spokesman, Magaji Majia, said the Police Command would address journalists on the issue tomorrow, Thursday but could not confirm the number of people killed in the attack.
