Senator Akpo Pius Ewherido, representing the Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly has died at the national hospital.

Although the nature of his ailment was not disclosed, the government of delta state in its commiseration expressed its deep condolences to the family at this trying moment and advised Deltans particularly members of his constituency to remain calm.

The Secretary to the state government, Ovuozourie Macaulay who signed the statement also prayed that God should grant his family and constituents the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
