The 22-year-old has only been at Stamford Bridge for a year now, after originally joining the Blues from Wigan Athletic last August for a fee of £9 million.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping that he can use his close working relationship with Mourinho to be able to persuade the Portuguese to allow the Moses to move to Anfield on loan for this season, although Chelsea are understood to not be willing to allow the player to leave on a permanent deal.
However, despite scoring an impressive ten goals for the club in his 43 appearances in total in all competitions in his debut campaign, including one solitary strike in his 23 Premier League outings for his new team, Moses has now been told by new Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho that he can leave the Bridge this season.
One stumbling block, however, to Moses joining the Reds is Chelsea’s demand for a one-off £2m loan fee for the winger, but if a compromise figure can be reached, then it is thought that the move will still take place before the transfer window closes on Sept 2.
