The Congress for Progressive Change has criticized the planned removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government saying the removal of fuel subsidy will further impoverish the people.

Speaking to Channels Television in Abuja shortly after inaugurating the party’s renewal committee, National Chairman of the Party, Prince Tony Momoh says the Federal Government has been very economical with the truth concerning the actual cost of refining fuel.

He admitted that some persons have been excluded from participating in the affairs of the party in time past and the party is determined to redress the situation.

Also speaking to Channels Television, Chairman of the 150 member renewal committee, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai says the committee will identify weaknesses and gaps within the party in order to create a massive support base for the party ahead of the 2012 governorship election in Adamawa, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Kogi and Sokoto states.
