The immediate past governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel is due to appear in court tomorrow Thursday, January 2011,before Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje of the Ogun State High Court for charges related to financial impropriety levelled against him by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC),against the state.

The former governor is standing trial on a 43 count charge bordering on alleged illegal conversion of the state landed properties, fraudulent conversion of Ogun state money and illegal deduction from local government statutory allocations.
The presiding judge, Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje had fixed the 19th and 20th of January for plea on the new charges levelled against the accused and the commencement of trial.
The accused was sworn into office on May 29th 2003 and was re-elected for another term, in 2007 which ended on the 29th May 2011.
