The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has agreed to play Egypt in a friendly on April the 12th in Abu Dhabi.

General Secretary of the NFF Musa Amadu, stated that “although the FA has agreed a tentative date for the match-up it’s not a done deal yet because some grey areas are still unresolved.”

Coach Stephen Keshi has already welcomed the friendly, admitting it would give his home boys “the opportunity to garner more experience.”

Egypt had earlier this month requested for a friendly with the home-based eagles to help them prepare for their 2014 world cup qualifiers in June.

The seven-time African champions will begin their quest to feature at the World Cup in Brazil on June the 1st at home to Mozambique while Nigeria will host Namibia on June the 2nd and a week later travel to Malawi as part of the qualifying tournament for the 2014 world cup.

Egypt’s coach Bob Bradley has called up ‘retired’ Mohamed Aboutrika just a month after saying he was quitting football.

The Al Ahly star announced his retirement from football in the wake of the Port Said’s tragedy, where 74 fans lost their lives. However, he has now been named in the squad of Coach Bradley shortly after returning for his Cairo club in the African Champion’s league.

Egypt will play friendlies against chad and Uganda in Sudan later this month.

Meanwhile there are indications the Super Eagles might also face Iran’s national football team, the Persian stars in an international friendly game pending ratification from theNFF.

The game has been provisionally fixed for April 18th in Tehran, the Iranian capital.

There are reports contact had been made with the Iranian football federation and that a decision on the friendly game would be made in the ‘shortest possible time.’
