The meeting between security chiefs and religious leaders on the forthcoming Easter celebrations has agreed on some security measures to forestall any disturbances during the festivities period in Plateau state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the parley and signed by Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Emmanuel Ayeni, a ban has been placed on movement of motorcycles during the Easter period while worshippers are advised to park vehicles outside places of worships on Fridays and throughout the Easter period.

In addition, all procession and rally during the festive period have been banned with constant vehicular and foot patrol by security agencies to scare away would be perpetrators of security breach.

The parley also agreed that during the Easter period, preachers should shorten their sermons while worshippers are not allowed into worship centres with hand bags of any kind with a warning that all worshippers should disperse to their various homes rather than loitering or clustering at the premises.

These security measures according to the police commissioner are to guide against any possible attack or threat during the Easter celebrations.
