President Goodluck Jonathan has warned the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE), not to allow itself to be influenced by politicians in the ongoing privatisation and reforms of the power sector.
The president made this known at the end of the presidential workshop on the power sector with the theme “Dismantling Barriers to Achieving the Power Sector Vision.”
The president told the BPE to follow the privatisation issues to the letter and strictly with the dates of June 1.
He assured Nigerians and all the companies that have indicated interest in the bidding that there will be no political manipulations.
The president noted that the economic management team will now retire with the recommendations from the workshop to fine tune the process that will enable his administration deliver a steady power supply to Nigerians.
