The Northern Governors Forum has announced the constitution of a Committee on Reconciliation, Healing and Security comprising eminent citizens of the north from diverse backgrounds to work towards curtailing the alarming rate of insecurity in the north.
Chairman of the forum and governor of Niger state, Dr. Muazu Aliyu who announced this after an emergency meeting of the forum in Abuja also said that there is a need for synergy amongst the various arms of security agencies in the country in order to combat the security challenges being faced by the nation.
The forum, after a five hour deliberation which began at 9 PM observed the lack of viable revenue profile in the northern states and resolved to create employment opportunities for the teeming youths of the region in order to arrest youth restiveness and failure in family value system.
