Afolayan, Asa, Tinubu bag leadership awards

Award-winning film director and actor, Kunle Afolayan; ace singer, Bukola ‘Asa’ Elemide; and entrepreneur, Wale Tinubu have been recognised for their contributions in their chosen fields by the African Leadership Network.

The African leadership Network awards are meant to search for a new generation of leaders for Africa, who despite their relatively young age, are uniquely positioned to play a role in taking Africa to a new era of prosperity.

Afolayan, who won the award for the Best Achievement in Art Direction at the 2012 African Movie Academy Awards for his latest film production, Phone Swap, was quoted as saying, ‘‘I will put in my own contribution as an African and as a young entrepreneur. “

Asa has consistently extended the frontiers of global discourse for a peaceful world via her songs. Also awarded by the network is the Managing Director, MNET, Biola Alabi.
