As the search for the kidnapped vice chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Prof. Cyprian Onyeji intensifies, the Enugu state Police Commissioner, Musa Daura has assured that they will make sure the vice chancellor is rescued alive.
Prof. Cyprian onyeji was kidnapped on the 13th of this month at the main gate of the university and is yet to be released by his abductors.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers of Professor Cyprian Onyeji are demanding for the sum N200 Million as a ransom before releasing him.
Speaking to journalists in Enugu at the weekend, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aloysius Uzoagulu, said the family of the vice-chancellor informed the school authority about the development.
Mr. Uzoagulu said the institution would not be involved in the payment of any ransom, noting that it could only offer its encouragement to the family.
Mr. Uzoagulu also debunked media reports that the institution was on strike following the abduction of the Vice Chancellor.
The deputy Vice chancellor called on students to return to school, adding that full academic activities would resume on Aug. 22 after the Sallah break.
