A former minister of information, Professor Jerry Gana, has also reacted to the controversy trailing the CBN’s decision on the new five thousand naira denomination.

Professor Gana, who spoke to reporters after a courtesy visit to the Imo state governor in Owerri, noted that the CBN might have been ill-advised on the issue, and urged the apex bank to take another look at the matter.

However, the former minister threw his weight behind the creation of state police in the country.
