The meeting which was succeeded by the meeting on polio eradication afforded the president the opportunity to let out what he had prepared to tell the governors and the local government chairmen who had converged the same day behind closed doors to proffer solution to the polio problem still ravaging some portion of the country.

The president said that he will carry the war against polio to any governor who absented himself from the meeting after the one he just had on saving one million lives. He reiterated that no Nigerian child should be allowed to surfer polio in the 21st century.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, the minister of state for health, Dr. Ali Pate, said that only 6 per cent of the parts of Kano, Katsina and Kaduna are still suffering the wild polio epidemic and that with the effort put in by the president the case will completely be dealt with.
