The leadership crisis rocking the Ogun state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has taken a new twist as the state working committee of the party’s different factions, have suspended members of the party.

A statement by the secretary of the Bayo Dayo led faction of the party, Mr. Semiu Sodipo, announced the suspension of the PDP’s governorship candidate in the last governorship election in the state, General Adetunji Olurin (Rtd) and the national auditor of the party, Chief Bode Mustapha.

Others affected are the chairman of the Obasanjo faction, Senator Dipo Odujirin, Mr. Dapo Adeyemi and Mr. Yahaya Ahmed.

The statement said the suspension became imperative because the alleged anti-party activities of the members have continued to impede on the on-going reconciliatory process of the party.

In another development, the Obasanjo faction of the party has also suspended a leader of the party in the state, Chief Buruji Kashamu, former secretary of the party in the state, Chief Pegba Otemolu, Alhaji Semiu Shodipo and Mr Segun Sowunmi.

In a press statement by the publicity secretary of the faction, Mr. Bidemi Osunbiyi, the suspension is to last for 30 days during which the affected persons are expected to face the disciplinary committee to answer charges against them.
