As Nigerians join Christians around the world to celebrate Christmas, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Christians to pray for the progress of the nation.

In a statement released in Abuja by the national publicity secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, the party says it will commit more effort in ensuring that all its elected members appointed into various positions of authority shall be servants and not masters as our Lord Jesus Christ.

The statement further said that the PDP chairman, Dr Bamanga Tukur on behalf of the national working committee of the party, wished that ‘‘as the birth of Christ brought joy to the shepherds of Bethlehem, it shall bring warm spirit to our country men and women’’.

The All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) has also extended goodwill messages to Nigerians.

In its message, the ANPP urged Christians to be their brother’s keepers and also embrace the faithful of other religions in search for a better world, adding that this will help in restoring love and strengthen our pursuit of lasting peace, enduring happiness and sustainable development.
