The national chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Bisi Akande has confirmed an on-going plan for a possible merger between the political party, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), ahead of the 2015 general elections.

Chief Akande revealed this to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital during a visit by the party’s leadership to the palace of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III to commiserate with him over the fire that gutted a section of his palace.

He said various committees have been set-up to work out modalities for the merger, which would put the opposition in a better stand to contest the elections with the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.
