The Nigeria Police Force has declared wanted Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina of the Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Office (CIPPO), for failing to appear before the Senate Joint Committee on the Investigation of Pension Funds.

The Senate had on the 13th December, 2012, issued a Warrant of Arrest, mandating the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to arrest and produce Mr. Maina before the Senate Joint Committee on the Investigation of Pension Fund.
According to the statement signed by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba, declaring Mr. Maina wanted, the police authority claimed that “the subject (Alhaji Maina) has gone into hiding, making it difficult for the Police to execute the warrant.”
Consequently, the IGP has directed “all AIGs in-charge of Zonal Commands and State Commands and Commissioners of Police to spread their drag-nets to all nooks-and-crannies of their respective areas of jurisdiction, in search of Alhaji Maina.”
Also to join the man-hunt are all operatives of the Federal Intelligence Bureau (FIB), Force and State CID.
The IGP appealed to the general public with useful information on the whereabouts of Mr. Maina, to kindly volunteer such information to the nearest Police station, formation or email [email protected], for necessary action.
Presenting the final report on the investigation of pension funds management, the chairman, Senate Joint Committees on Establishment and Public Service, Senator Aloysius Etuk at the last hearing on the probe, revealed how the Mr. Maina engaged in illegal contract splitting and award of contracts to the tune of N1.8 billion and also approved the spending of N17 billion on biometric verification for less than 30 pensioners in the diaspora.
