The spokesperson the Nigerian State Security Services (SSS), Mrs Marylyn Ogar, has decried the attitude of paying miscreants and local security organisations for individual security saying such enhances insecurity.
The Deputy Director of Publicity with the SSS made this known on Sunrise Daily when she revealed that one of the suspects arrested for insurgency was found to possess N380million in his account.
She claimed the suspect confessed to have harnessed the fund from payments made by people who were seeking security from him.
When asked by Sunrise Daily crew whether such payments could be made because Nigerians have lost confidence in the capacity of the nation’s security agency, she replied that such money should be given to Nigerian security agencies to further encourage and support them.
