The Oyo state Governor; Abiola Ajimobi, has disclosed that state government is concluding arrangements on instituting an e-governance system and outsource some services in order to create a support system that would improve information-sharing across various areas for the citizens of the state.

He made this known while formalising arrangements between an international solutions provider; Spanco BPO, during an official inauguration of the facility in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Also, through a partnership between government and the group, the governor announced that his administration would roll-out a Government to Citizen (G2C) Help Line which would establish an information link between government and citizens at all times.

This, he noted  would cover various initiatives by the state like Health Helpline and Medical Care, Health Emergency and Hospital/Ambulance Management, Agriculture Helpline, Land Registry, Women in Distress and Police Helpline .

At the inauguration of the state of the art facility which has employed over 1,000 youths from Oyo state, Mr Ajimobi said the creation of an enabling environment for investors and the attainment of a peaceful environment made such a synergy between government and foreign partners possible.

He added that the state possessed a fertile ground for any investor wishing to take optimal advantage of its God-endowed possibilities and disclosed that the latest partnership will make e-governance functional and effective in the quest for good governance.

Ajimobi added that the new initiative of a support center for key sectors like education, health, agriculture and security will arm the populace with structured information on any matter of interest thereby creating a bond between people and government while lives, time and resources are saved in the process.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT Mr. Tayo Koleoso in his address disclosed that the Governor had mandated an aggressive human capital development programme to drive his transformation agenda to fruition.

He  further revealed that improved information management on issues like disease prevention and control among humans, plants and animals, agro inputs, incentives, storage, safety and security, education and exam related issues are constant features of the support centres which will be integrated with disaster recovery centers across the state.

The partner to the state government on this initiative, Spanco’s CEO Mr. Pravin Kumar said they decided to partner with Oyo state Government because government plays a vital role through services to improve the quality of life.

The governor further called on all investors willing to do business with the state to bring proposals, promising that all necessary has been put in place to do profitable business in a safe environment.
