Six oil pipeline vandals have been arrested by Officers of the Ondo State Command of The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ago-Odigbo village in Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Waheed Popoola revealed that the six Suspects were arrested from a tip off during surveillance by the anti-vandal squad of the command.

The gang was arrested in a forest located at Caravan junction, near Ago- Odigbo village, off Benin- Ore expressway while syphoning petrol from a broken pipe.

It took the NSCDC officials three days of surveillance in the bush before they could get the exact location.

The Culprits dug a trench, drilled the pipeline, connected the pipe and tanker with two valves and pumped petrol into the tanker with the use of a pumping machine.

They had filled the first 33 thousand litre tanker and were in the process of pumping fuel into the second tanker when they were caught.

Mr. Popoola said the suspects were caught in the act, adding that they will be charged to court, while investigation is ongoing to nab the fleeing ones.

The Pipeline that was broken was part of the ones supplying fuel to the Ore depot of the NNPC.
