Imposter Parading Self As Major Nabbed By Army In Edo

Army officers in Edo state under the ‘Operation Thunderstorm’ apprehended an imposter who has been parading himself as a Major serving in the 4th Brigade of the Nigerian army.

Mr Kaburi John not only has been parading himself as an officer of the Army but also as an Officer Commanding (OC), of the Provost Company with the aim of duping unsuspecting victims.

Men of Operation Thunder Storm in Edo state have apprehended Mr Kabiru John who has been parading himself as a Major serving in 4Brigade Nigerian Army.

Parading the suspect at the 4Brigade headquarters in Benin city, the Public Relations Officer, Captain Rose Managbe told journalists that Mr kabiru John who is always dressed in full military gear to perpetuate his act, have been exhorting money from his victims with a promise to help them gain admission into military institutions.

Mr Kabiru claimed that he joined the army in 2003 and was dismissed in 2010 as a private soldier.

Alongside Mr Kabiru, two other suspects were also paraded by the command for armed robbery and one , Mrs Josephine Ochini  for drug peddling, who had been earlier arrested and paraded by the command for same offence three months ago; however she was rearrested with seven bags of Indian hemp. She however claimed to be innocent and accused her husband of committing the crime.

The Two suspected armed robbers were reported to have been terrorising Eyean and Aduwawa communities, an act that admitted to and they will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for persecutions.
