Four persons have been reported dead and 14 injuried in an auto crash that occurred at Igbara-Oke in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The crash resulted from a head-on collision of an 18-passenger Mazda bus, number plate Lagos KSF 706 XF, with a Honda Accord saloon, AA 239 GBH.
The Federal Road Safety Commission Officer in charge of Field Operations in Ondo State Command, Mr. Joseph Ojerinde informed Channels Television that the accident occurred at about 6.30pm on Saturday.
He also said the auto crash was caused by reckless driving on the part of the driver of the Honda car who made a dangerous overtake and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.
The FRSC official said 22 persons were in both cars: 14 males, four females and four under-aged children.
He added that the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary of the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, while those injured were taken to nearby General Hospitals in Igbara-Oke and Ilara-Mokin for treatment.
