The new Grand Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu, Major General Shehu Yusuf, on Monday, told officers of the 34 Brigade Artillery of the Nigerian Army, Obinze in Imo State, that maintaining good relationship with the citizens would help in getting necessary information that would assist them in fighting crime.

“It is very important for soldiers to have high sense of discipline and conduct. When you have that you will not have a problem wherever you are deployed to operate.

“Don’t forget the security challenges we have and you as soldiers have a responsibility to ensure that there is peace and stability where you are deployed for development to thrive. It is our responsibility to ensure that wherever we are, we will continue to sustain development.

“We will continue to assist the civilian administration to ensure that there is peace and security for them to develop the nation.

“You must maintain good relationship with other security agencies and with people where you leave,” Major General Yusuf stressed.

He cautioned them against engaging in a fight with civilians or other security agencies.
