The Managing Director of Intercontinental Distillers Limited, Mr Patrick Anegbe and his wife, Dorothy Anegbe has been honoured by the Olota of Ota, in Ogun State for their contribution to the community.
He came all the way from Uromi in Edo State, but there is an adage that a man’s support to the community he lives is always recognised whether he is from there or not.
That was what played out as they stepped forward before the Olota of Ota Awori Land Oba Osayantolu who conferred on them Baase Maraya and Yeye Baase Maraya meaning “bringers of good things”.
He came to Ota as a young bachelor over 30 years ago, married there and still living in Ota.
He has contributed to the development to the community through his company and the Olota of Ota thought is wise to honour him with a chieftaincy title.
Guests gathered in front of the palace of the Olota of Ota where the rites were performed.
Royal fathers and other guests both from Uromi in Edo State joined them for the occasion.
Who the cap fits, off course, wears it.
It was indeed a day of celebration for them knowing full well that the people of Ota, appreciate their contribution to the community
