Power cable ThiefA man attempting to steal power cables was electrocuted in the early hours of Friday in Dadin Kowa area of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, North Central region of Nigeria.

Nemesis caught up with the yet to be identified thief as he was electrocuted after cutting cables from the high tension wire that supplies power to residents of Dadin Kowa and a quarry company located within the area.

As soon as the information of the incident spread across the town, the area was flooded with a large crowd that gathered to catch a glance of the corpse hanging on the pole.

After dispersing the crowd, security operatives comprising of the Nigeria Police and National Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, brought the vandal down from the pole with a barbed wire saw that he was using.

According to the Quarry Manager of SGC Company, Toma Davou, the quarry had been at the mercy of power cable vandals that have been terrorising the company and carting away various equipment until nemesis caught up with this particular thief.

The identity of the cable thief was unknown as Police has commenced investigation into the matter, while the corpse has been deposited in the mortuary.
