Haruna DabinThe Plateau State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Mr Haruna Dabin as its chairman.

This was contained in a communique read by the Chairman, Mangu Local Government Area, Mr  Caleb Mutfwang, who represented elected council chairmen, after a meeting of the party’s State Executive Committee at the Government House in Jos, the state capital.

The communique stated that Mr Dabin was suspended for his failure to call meetings of the various organs of the party for a long time and failure to render financial accounts to the party as well as instigating some members of the party to institute law suit against the party.

“Whereas majority of the members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party having been dissatisfied with the way the party in the state is being run, as evidenced by the failure and or refusal of the party leadership to call meetings of the different organs of the party as and when due and having requested that an extra-ordinary meeting of the SEC, be held.

“Having exhaustively examined the state of affairs resolved as follow: that the PDP remains the party of all Plateau people;

‘’ All wards of the party in the state are directed to ensure people wishing to join the party are encouraged to do so in line with the party’s constitution.

“In view of the deliberate refusal by party Chairman, Dr. Dabin to call meetings of the various organs of the Party for unduly long period and his failure to render financial accounts to the party and instigating some members of the party to institute a lawsuit against the party, the SEC is constrained to suspend the chairman pending the outcome investigations by the party’s Disciplinary Committee within two weeks.”, the communique read

Representing the governor at the meeting, the state Deputy Governor, Ignatius Longjan said that proper measures will be taken in bringing the party together as a family.

Mr. Dabin has been having problems in the state since he declared his intention to run for governor on the platform of the party.

He has been replaced by the Deputy State party Chairman, Raymond Davou.
