The Edo State government says it will ensure all on-going road projects are completed before the end of the Adams Oshiomhole-led administration.
The Edo State Commissioner for Works, Mr Osarodion Ogie, gave the assurance in an interview while inspecting projects at Ewohimi Esan North -East Local Government Area of Edo State.
He explained that the government had been engaged in concrete work during the rainy season and would commence earth work as soon as the dry season begins.
The project will cost 30 billion Naira, bulk of which will be used for underground drainage construction expected to drain water from a third part of Benin city.
Nine other road projects were connected to the Storm Water Project among which were Obakpolor Avenue, Uwasota Road, Textile Mill Road and Uwelu Road which were in a terrible state.
Mr Ogie said the state had, since Governor Oshiomhole’s reign, completed over 500 kilometers of road with several hundreds of kilometers ongoing, assuring that all ongoing jobs will be completed before the end of the administration.
He also appealed to residents to exercise patience with the government while the construction works are ongoing.
