John-OyegunThe leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to see the party as one on a rescue mission, poised and positioned to rescue the nation.

At the commissioning of Sam Mbakwe’s house in Abuja on Wednesday, the National Chairman of the party, Mr John Oyegun, said the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government had failed Nigerians and that “the time for change has come”.

He claimed that the APC was the alternative party for a better Nigeria.

The event was dominated by political speeches by members of the opposition party and speaker after speaker took a swipe at the Federal Government and canvassed for a change which they say will work for a better Nigeria.

For the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, the Peoples Democratic Party-led government had over time provided the recipe for insurgency, insecurity, ethnicity and hopelessness in the country and that if given another opportunity in 2015, it could finally derail the nation.

The APC says it is not bothered by the departure of some key members of the party as their exist had given room for the party to continue to grow as it looks to lead the country in the coming years.
