Synagogue church building collapse At least 15 bodies were recovered from the debris of a collapsed building in the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations at Ikotun in Lagos State, south-west Nigeria on Friday.

The spokesman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, Friday Adeboayo, confirmed the recovery of the dead bodies.

He said rescue operations were ongoing to evacuate injured and trapped persons.

The six storey building under construction in Synagogue Church collapsed around 1.00 pm local time on Friday.

By Saturday, however, the death toll from the collapsed 6-storey building reached 17.

This figure was jointly agreed to by both the National Emergency Management Authority [NEMA] and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority [lASEMA].

They also say over 120 survivors have so far been rescued from the debris, while rescue operation is ongoing.
