The Kaduna State Government has faulted the statement made by the Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory and governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress(APC), Mr Nasril El-Rufai that the present administration in the state has not provided any infrastructural development to the people since its inception despite the huge allocations accrued to the state.

The former FCT minister had during his declaration of intention to contest for governor of Kaduna State, accused the Governor Mukhtar Yero led administration of running the state with a few clique of individuals who are siphoning public funds, while roads, schools and hospitals have fallen into disrepair.

He also alleged that poverty and unemployment has become more pervasive under the present PDP government in the state, adding that only an APC government will restore the state back to its glory.

However reacting to El-Rufai’s allegation on Wednesday, the state governor, Mukhtar Yero, who spoke through his Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Ahmed Maiyaki dismissed El-Rufai’s allegation, saying that the former FCT minister lacks the knowledge and idea of what is going on in the state, having left the state for too long.

In an interview with Channels Television, Maiyaki said it is laughable that the former minister is not aware of the steady improvement that has been recorded in all sectors of the economy within the last 23 months and challenged the APC governorship aspirant to visit the 23 local government areas of the state and see things for himself before coming out publicly to accuse the government of non performance.

The governor’s spokesman said El-rufai’s “antecedents as a selfish public officer, who allocated lands to his family members and associates without due process when he was FCT minister, disqualifies him from speaking about good governance or even seeking for any other public office”, he said.
