The studentsPresident of Turkey, Recep Erdogan, has asked the U.S President Barack Obama to clarify his stance over the murder of three Muslim students in the U.S.

He said: “If you stay silent when faced with an incident like this and don’t make a statement, the world will stay silent towards you”.

Though the Police are still investigating the motive of the killings, which the victims’ family claims borders on hate, a suspect has already been taken into custody over the incident.

According to the Police, there were initial indications that the gunmen acted in a dispute over a parking space.

A District Prosecutor had said there was no evidence that the victims had been targeted because of their faith.

Thousands of people reportedly attended the funeral of the students who were shot dead in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

A district prosecutor said on Wednesday there was no evidence that the  students – Deah Shaddy Barakat, wife Yusor Mohammad and her sister Razan – had been targeted because of their faith.
