pdp-apc-1The violence that disrupted the rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okrika, Rivers State appears to have blown the peace parley between the governorship candidates of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party.

Both parties are embroiled in a war of words, blaming each other for the violence that resulted in the death of one and injuring of many, including Channel TV senior correspondent Charles Erukaa.

At the peace parley, both candidates had held hands in a show of support for a violence-free election in the state.

However, things may have changed as the last is yet to be heard concerning the APC rally that was disrupted by explosions and shootings by unknown gunmen in Okirika, Rivers state, on Tuesday.

While the APC and PDP tackled each other with words as to who masterminded the attack, the Police Commissioner in the State told Channels Television in an exclusive interview that his command would get to the root of the matter.

The APC governorship candidate, Mr Dakuku Peterside, points accusing fingers at a PDP member of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The man accused of masterminding the attack denied the allegation, saying that his innocence would vindicate him.
