Army Frees 182 Suspected Boko Haram DetaineesThe Nigerian Army has granted freedom to 182 suspected Boko Haram members detained in military facilities in Maiduguri.

The development is coming in accordance with the military authority’s pledge to carry out its operations within the law.

Although, the force may have intensified its onslaught against the Islamist group, but it appears to be making good its promise.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah, handed the detainees to the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, during the Army Day celebration in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital in north-east Nigeria.

The Army Chief noted that the detainees, who were arrested from various parts of the state, had not been found culpable of the offences they were initially charged with.
