policeThe Yobe State Police Command has declared restriction of vehicular movement in and out of the state to ensure a hitch free Sallah celebration.

A statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Toyin Gbadegesin (ASP) said “There shall be no movement of all classes of vehicles in and out of the state from all directions or gateways between the hours of 6:00 PM on Thursday July 16 to 2:00 PM Friday July 17, when Sallah would have been successfully concluded.”

The statement said that no vehicles or any means of conveyance will be allowed beyond 500 metres to the prayer ground and urges the public to comply with the directive to ensure a successful celebration.

It also said that mode of dressing to the prayer ground should be simple while no bag will be allowed, adding that male worshippers will be checked by male security agents while female security will check their female counterparts into the venue.

While congratulating Muslims for the completion of the Ramadan fast, the statement calls on them to accord security agents the needed support towards a hitch free celebration.

Meanwhile, Muslims have besieged the Damaturu market in late minute shopping ahead of Friday’s celebration.
