FG Should Consider Constructing Cargo Rails On Highway – Lawmaker

A Member of the House of Representatives, Representative Ayodeji Joseph, says the Federal Government may have to consider constructing cargo rails on the highway leading to the Apapa Port in Lagos State.

The federal lawmaker, who moved a motion on the issue in the House of Representatives, said the measure is to eliminate heavy trucks plying the road and damaging it in the process.

After debating the motion, the Lawmakers urged the Federal Ministry of Works to, as a matter of urgency, rehabilitate the road to end the incessant gridlock at the highway.

The House also called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the reconstruction of the Kabba-Obajana Road in Kogi State.
