Akwa Ibom Tribunal Receives Materials Used For Polls

The Akwa Ibom governorship election petition tribunal has received the materials used for the polls in the state.

The tribunal also admitted the report of forensic experts engaged by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to examine the materials.

The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Sadiq Umar, explained that the petitioner had listed them while filing his petition.

The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal reserved ruling till Thursday August 20 to decide whether the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Mr Umana Umana, can invite additional witnesses and present fresh documents in the prosecution of their petition.

The Tribunal, had earlier turned down the request to disqualify the witnesses of the APC, who gave testimonies in the last governorship election in the state.
