Channels TV Signs MoU With United Nations

Channels Television has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations on news coverage.

“It is a great pleasure for me to deliver a very important project which has been discussed and agreed upon by the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and Channels Television”, the UN Secretary General, Mr Ban Ki-moon said after the signing.

“I hope that this joint project will be able to convey the good message to many people around the world. I also hope that UN TV will be able to have a good cooperation with Channels TV,” he added

On his part, The Chairman/CEO, Channels Television, Mr John Momoh (OON), on behalf of the award-winning television station thanked Mr Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations and “all those who have taken part in making sure that the MoU came about”.

Mr Momoh further stressed the television station’s commitment to being aligned with the maxim on the website of the United Nations, which says ‘We’ve got it all covered by the United Nations’, maintaining that “Channels Television has got it all covered for you”.

Based in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos, Channels Television’s primary focus is producing news and current affairs programs on Nigerian domestic issues.

The Channel’s mission is to act as a watchdog on governmental policies and activities.

The independent award-winning 24 hour news station is the first Nigerian broadcaster to stream its television programming live for 24 hours.

The station has also bagged the ‘Best Television Station of the Year’, an award endowed by the Nigerian Media Merit Award Trust – nine times in the last fourteen years (2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013/2014), thereby making Channels Television “the Station of the decade”.
