IPAC Election:Two Factions Lay Claim To Leadership

A deep gulf has emerged within the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), with two factions laying claim to the leadership of the body.

The Chairman of one of the factions, Bashir Ibrahim was inaugurated by the Acting National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Amina Zakari.

However, the outgoing National Secretary of the body, Mr Peter Ameh, claimed he was elected at another election held on Tuesday, August 25.

Mrs Zakari said the election followed due process, hence the inauguration of the executives led by Mr Ibrahim.

But Mr Ameh explained that the previous election was disputed and claimed he won the election conducted on Tuesday.
