The Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese of Anambra State, Bishop Ephraim Ikeafor, has advised politicians to avoid acts of desperation that trigger political violence.
The clergy’s appeal is in line with measures to stem the rising cases of violence in Nigeria’s polity.
Bishop Ikeafor made the call in his speech at a special thanksgiving service of the Diocese of Abuja, Anglican Communion.
He said that he believes Nigeria can be a better place if the citizens imbibe the culture of doing the right thing at all times.
The Bishop also advised the youths to refrain from being used as political thugs by selfish politicians who are only interested in politics because of what they stand to gain.
