The new Oba market project estimated at over three billion Naira is to replace the old market which was demolished in December 2015, following a fire disaster.
Speaking during the foundation laying ceremony, Governor Fayose refered to the project as another promise that has been fulfilled by his administration.
The Governor added that the construction of the market would be completed within 18 months and be ready for use.
The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, commended the Governor for his work in the state, stressing that the new Oba market is not for the people of Ado Ekiti alone, but for all indigenes of the state and Nigeria at large.
Some market women in the state also showed their appreciation to the state government.
The occasion was graced by the Governor, his wife, the Deputy Governor, traditional rulers and other top government officials in the state.
