KadunaThe Kaduna State government says it has concluded plans to settle the three months outstanding salaries being owed to about 2,742 civil servants in a few days’ time.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Abdul Kwari, announced this to newsmen on Tuesday.

The Commissioner explained that the move to settle the salary arrears followed the delay and other hitches encountered in the ongoing verification of civil servants by the Kaduna State Government, a situation he attributed to bank protocols that has made it difficult for the affected workers to receive their salaries.

The Commissioner stated that the 2,742 civil servants that will receive their three months’ salary arrears are those that have been cleared by the office of the Head of Service having undergone the verification exercise.

He gave the assurance that the delay in the payment of workers’ salaries in the state would be a thing of the past as soon as the verification exercise is completed.
