NLC Accuses South East Governors Of Not Paying Salaries

The National Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Muhammad Shuaib, has accused south-east Governors of non-payment of workers’ salaries.

The NLC leader made the accusation at the Government House in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State on Wednesday.

In an interview with Channels Television, the labour leader said governors of Imo, Anambra and Taraba State were reneging.

Mr Shuaib noted that though, six states had agreed to settle the backlog of salaries, which was between two and three months, before the end of April.

In line with the economic realities, he also appealed to the governors to cut cost of administration especially the salaries and allowances of political office holders.
