Governor Ikeazu on Tuesday, hinted that Abia State is willing to access NDDC resources for the purpose of development.
He made the statement in a meeting with the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs during their visit to the Government House in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.
The Governor, who commended the Committee for the initiative of having firsthand information from the grassroots for whom NDDC projects are meant for, also called on the NDDC to take the state into confidence in the conceptualisation of projects to enable the state make inputs in such projects.
He, however, regrettably hinted that the intervention of the NDDC had not been quite palatable in the state.
Governor Ikpeazu called for the State Government’s involvement in execution of NDDC projects stating that Abia would be ready to access NDDC resources to enhance the development of the state.
With the visit and the effort it intends to make, it would be expected that the budget of the NDDC would have requisite impacts on the grassroots.
