The Benue State Police Command has launched the manhunt for the arrest of the unknown gunmen involved in the killing of two policemen in Ado Local Government Area on Sunday morning.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Bashir Makama, disclosed this to Channels Television in Makurdi, shortly after returning from a fact finding visit to Ado where some persons were arrested for interrogation.

The Police have vowed to recover the three rifles stolen by the attackers, who also left two officers in critical conditions.

Channels Television also visited the Federal Medical Centre in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, where the two survivors with multiple bullet wounds were operated upon.

The consultant, Ocheifa Matthew, said that the officers were in stable condition after extensive surgeries but they remained under close observation.
