The Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced its resolve to sustain the tempo of crime prevention embarked upon for a safe and secured environment.
This was disclosed by the commands Commissioner of Police Danmallam Mohammed while reacting to the arrest of armed robbery and car snatching kingpins, recently by his operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit of the command.
“It could be recalled that through intelligence information some notorious armed robbery/car snatching suspects on the wanted list of the command over their involvements in various criminal activities in the state and its environs, suspects chidiadi Okolo, Obed Okone, and Echezone Igboebisi of the Notorious Armed Robbery and Car Snatching gang were trailed to their various hideout at Abakpa Nike axis and presidential road axis of the state respectively, from where a gun duel ensued between the operatives and the suspected hoodlums”
According to him the suspects were overpowered by the superior firepower of the operatives which left some injured and others escaped.
CP Danmallam said investigations into their nefarious activities are intensified while manhunt on other fleeing members of the gang have been intensified.
